Valladolid (EFE).- The President of the Government and leader of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, announced this Sunday during a rally in Valladolid that the Council of Ministers will approve next Tuesday 38.5 million euros that will be transferred to the autonomous communities for continue promoting mental health care.
Sánchez made this announcement at a rally on the occasion of the regional and municipal elections on May 28 in which the leader of the PSOE in Castilla y León, Luis Tudanca, and the mayor of Valladolid, Óscar Puente, and the around 1,500 people have attended, according to Ferraz sources.
“The right would like everything to come to a standstill in an election year, for nothing to be done, to go back to when they governed (…) But no, the problems of the citizens cannot wait, this government is going to continue resolving and providing solutions to the problems of citizens, also in the field of mental health”, he stated.
The 38.5 million that the Council of Ministers will approve on Tuesday (of which 14.5 million euros will go to improve the equipment in health centers) are added to the 24 million of the mental health plan that the Government transferred to communities in 2022, as Sánchez himself has pointed out.
These 38.5 million were initially approved in an Interterritorial Health Council last April, as were the 580 million euros that the Council of Ministers will also approve on Tuesday to improve Primary Care, as Sánchez announced on Saturday during a rally in Valencia.

Health policy again
In his speech, he recalled measures implemented by his Government such as the 2022-2026 mental health strategy or the 024 telephone service for suicidal behaviour, which since it began operating in May 2022 has answered more than 119,000 calls, and has highlighted the mental health plan of the mayor of Valladolid.
“Health is the responsibility of the autonomous communities, but it is the responsibility of each and every one of the institutions, from the town halls to the Government of Spain”, he commented.
Sánchez has once again attacked the PP’s policy of “cuts” and has said that voting for the PSOE in the May 28 elections is “voting for strong, free, and quality public healthcare.”
On the other hand, it has urged to put a “stop” on the “scourge of macho terrorism” and has appealed directly to women to “consolidate with their vote” the victory of the PSOE in the municipal elections of Castilla y León.
“This is a government, that of the city of Valladolid; a party, the PSOE, and a government, that of Spain, feminist ”, she underlined.
Sánchez has expressed his conviction that the PSOE is going to win the elections on May 28 and that Óscar Puente “is going to be the mayor of Valladolid again”, since he has assured that he represents a “majority project” for this city.
And he has assured that the Government of Spain is going to give “all the support so that Valladolid becomes an industrial reference, not only in Spain but also in Europe”.
