Pamplona (EFE).- Geroa Bai’s candidate for the Presidency of the Government of Navarra, Uxue Barkos, has pledged that where Geroa Bai leads the progressive options, “there will be an agreement in town halls and the Government or there will not be.”
Barkos has participated in the central act of the Geroa Bai campaign in Baluarte, in which the candidate for mayor of Pamplona, Koldo Martínez, has participated, with the members of the list for the Foral Parliament José María Aierdi and Unai Hualde.
The candidate has indicated that she does not want to “wait until May 29” to show what her demands will be and has been clear in stating that she will demand that the PSN support the candidates of the municipalities in which Geroa Bai is the first progressive option, in order to support a government of the same characteristics.
“You have my commitment so that the change does not stop in the Pamplona region as it was cut off in 2019. It was not easy to reformulate Geroa Bai’s position to avoid a new agostazo, we reached agreements for a progressive government. Wherever the PSN was key to carrying out progressive and plural governments, it backed down and gave town halls to half the population to the right”, he lamented. He has also asked the rest of the forces to show their commitment to “change.”

“Calling the vote useful, if there is no commitment from the formations to maintain it, is useless,” he added. “Vote by vote, that’s how we did it in 2015 and that’s how we will do it next Sunday. We want to bring the courage of the Navarrese citizens to the Government ”, he said.
He does not regret the decision made in 2019
Barkos does not regret having formed a government with the Socialists, but has stated that “it has not been easy”. “This is a society that faces problems with enormous courage, with which Geroa Bai presents himself to preside over the Government, the courage that has been lacking on the front line of the Government to face Madrid”, he pointed out.
The former president has affirmed that “you have to have rennet to be guarantors of self-government when in 20 years no transfer has been brought. This legislature has signed three transfers, those promoted by Geroa Bai, Chivite has not promoted one more”.
On specific proposals, Barkos explained that “it is possible to reduce waiting lists, as we demonstrated in the last legislature” and has set the goal of “launching the Primary Care plan.”
Barkos has criticized “Pedro Sánchez’s gifts in the campaign.” “Yesterday I was talking about healthcare, the PSN has a plan on the table, what were we waiting for to get it going? What permission did they expect? To the electoral campaign?
Martínez offers “dialogue and agreement” in Pamplona
The candidate for the Pamplona City Council, Koldo Martínez, has offered “dialogue and agreement” against “those who want to turn Iruña into a feud, because Pamplona wants agreements.” “We suspected that the partisan extremes were going to lead us to confrontation, that they were going to want to position us with one extreme or with others, that if you are not at one extreme you do not exist, but Geroa Bai exists, he said.
Martínez explained that “when Geroa Bai governs, his neighbors live much better, regardless of who they voted for” and pointed out that “those who waste money must be evicted from the council.”
José María Aierdi has indicated that “Geroa Bai is that compass that has opened the way for us in recent years in Navarra” and that “betting on a coalition government has not made us lose our way”, while Unai Hualde has to choose between “a government led by María Chivite or by Uxue Barkos.”
