Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (EFE).- The candidate for the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands for Reunir Canarias Sostenible, Emma Colao, has undressed on her electoral poster, with an image that accompanies the slogan “Transparent” and “Shame should give to them”.
Emma Colao is the first trans candidate in the history of the Canary Islands to run for the Presidency of the regional Government, and she has not hesitated to “literally put her body” into this movement, with the aim of “breaking the silence” that, in her judgment, use the big parties.
In social movements, in their demonstrations or in rallies, he has pointed out, “we put our bodies up because we no longer have other instruments left, because they silence us, veto us, try to silence us and pretend that they pay attention to us.”
“Reunir Canarias Sostenible is a meeting point between social movements. They have decided to veto us, silence us and silence us, so we are going to put our bodies up for our people and with our people”, the candidate reflected.
The objective, he has insisted, is for this poster to stop people “not only to see a body on a poster, but to read the underlying message.”
“That is why we say that they are the ones who have to be ashamed and not us. Those who are tired know what we are talking about and they will know how to interpret the poster”, Colao added, who has opined that the traditional parties are trying to “cheap the vote”.
In his opinion, people “do not want to know anything about political parties or their milongas” because “they are exhausted and tired” and they have accused the parties with representation of trying “not to make noise to go unnoticed”.
For Colao, it is time to “learn from mistakes” and he has said that things cannot be changed using the same recipes, so in his opinion “it is time to try new things”.
“Although trying new things is often scary, sometimes it’s worth trying. We want to be a cry of hope ”, she has expressed.
Among the priority measures of his electoral program he has highlighted “the defense of public services, human rights, the placing of the economy at the service of the majority”, because for Reunir Canarias “politics rules and the economy obeys”.
He has also highlighted “Canarian obedience in the Canary Islands and from the Canary Islands” as a fundamental pillar of his proposals.
“Where decisions are made that affect the Canary Islands or our people, there must be people who represent the Canary Islands,” he reflected.
He has also asked why the announcements of the parties that he governs “do not correspond to what the people live” and he has stressed that his objective is “to contribute and voice what the people have decided they do not want to bear anymore”.
Regarding the campaign, Colao said she was grateful and had a good reception, something that is due, according to the candidate, to the fact that they are not “new” but rather come from already known spaces.
Lastly, he reported that his party “is not inclined to hold electoral rallies or put up paid buses so that people can see you while there is traffic on the street”, but rather they seek to see “people at the polls throwing out those who They are a danger above.” EFE
