Faced with this situation, the same department has added that it is necessary to take measures with “precise coordination to achieve maximum efficiency in fulfilling its purpose.”
In this sense, the Ministry has detailed that the Official Gazette of Castilla y León will publish the Resolution that extends the declaration of the period of medium danger of forest fires from May 19 to 25, both included, with the same preventive measures associated with the resolution. initial issued on March 29, 2023.

In general, the Junta de Castilla y León asks the population to exercise extreme prudence in their outdoor work and leisure activities to avoid the start of a possible fire and, if it does occur, alert through the Emergency Service 1 -1-2, for which reason a call for responsibility and citizen collaboration is made.
On the days that the AEMET determines very high or extreme fire risk levels, according to the map published on its website, the limitations established by the Government of Spain in Royal Decree Law 15/2022, of August 1, by in which urgent measures are taken regarding forest fires.
Among the established prohibitions and limitations are lighting fires in all kinds of open spaces, with the temporary suspension, as long as the risk remains, of all authorizations granted for burning stubble, permanent pastures, pruning remains and forest remains.
It also includes lighting a fire in rest areas on the road network, as well as in recreational and camping areas, including areas set aside for this.
The use of machinery and equipment in the mountains and in rural areas located in a strip of 400 meters around, the operation of which generates deflagration, sparks or electrical discharges, unless the competent body of the Autonomous Administration has expressly authorized their use or they are necessary. for fire extinguishing, are part of the limitations.
