Logroño, (EFE) This has been stated to EFE by the Ciudadanos candidates for the Government of La Rioja, Ángel Íñiguez; and to the Mayor of Logroño, Eduardo Peña.
Íñiguez, 29, a lawyer and audiovisual producer; and Peña, 43, a Law graduate and a worker in the private sector, have answered ten non-political questions raised by EFE during the campaign for the May 28 elections, with the aim of publicizing their profile beyond the scope political.
Ángel Íñiguez and Eduardo Peña
1.- Do you have social networks? Do you use them a lot?
Ángel Íñiguez: The only one I use with some frequency is LinkedIn, for professional reasons. I prefer other expressive means that favor the depth of the message.
Eduardo Peña: Yes, Facebook and Instagram. I usually use them quite a bit.
2.- What television series do you recommend?
Ángel Íñiguez: I’m more into movies than series, but I liked “Chernobyl” and “Winning time”, from HBO.
Eduardo Peña: “Suits”, “The key to success” and “Game of Thrones”.
3.- The trip that you liked the most? Which one is pending?
Ángel Íñiguez: My exchange at Auburn University (Alabama, United States). Just before, within the same trip, we visited Cuba and Mexico for my parents’ silver wedding anniversary. As pending destinations, Jerusalem for mysticism and beliefs; and Peru because the social history of miscegenation in Latin America amazes me.
Eduardo Peña: Rome and Egypt.
4.- How are household chores distributed at home?
Ángel Íñiguez: I don’t have a girlfriend and I live with my parents and my little brother, so I have to share the tasks with them. I have the purpose of learning to cook properly this summer. I help with everything, but I admit that I hate ironing.
Eduardo Peña: I do them all, my partner and I do them in the same way, as they occur.
5.- What is the best legacy of your parents? What legacy would you like to leave your children?
Ángel Íñiguez: Education, dialogue, generosity and his network of relationships. They know how to take care of people in a sustained way over time. Hopefully I will be able to bequeath the same to my children because those resources are allowing me to build a career and a life that I am proud of.
Eduardo Peña: Culture of effort, education in values, such as generosity and affection; and, above all, to be able to think for myself. To my children, boy and girl, I would leave knowledge of culture, history and education in general, respect for others, value effort, work and generosity. And now, a better city with equal opportunities for all.
6.- What is the best memory of your childhood?
Ángel Íñiguez: I had a happy childhood, especially because my parents did not rush me to lose the magic of naivety. There is a video that I never tire of revisiting: the first time I saw my brother when he came home.
Eduardo Peña: The vacations on the beach, the walks through the countryside in the towns of the grandparents, Haro and Castañares; and summers with friends at the Cantabria de Logroño recreational society.
7.- The biggest challenge of your professional career?
Ángel Íñiguez: In June I turn 30. It is a major challenge to set up a company, an audiovisual production company, just a few months before the pandemic broke out, and to have consolidated a brand for which customers repeat. This candidacy, for all that it implies in terms of personal exposure and team leadership, is the greatest challenge of my professional career.
Eduardo Peña: Right now the Mayor’s Office, to be able to work for and for the people of Logroño.
8.- Is it more of getting up early or staying up late?
Ángel Íñiguez: I wake up early, even when I go out to a party. I look for those moments of silence, inside and outside, in which I have probably made my best decisions and have come up with the best ideas.
Eduardo Peña: Get up early during the week and stay up all night on the weekend to read, listen to the radio and go to the movies.
9.- Are you an athlete? What sport does he practice?
Ángel Íñiguez: Twice a week I practice karate. I really like basketball, but I also play tennis and paddle tennis.
Eduardo Peña: Yes, since I was a child. I have a passion for basketball and tennis, but I also like swimming.
10.- What other candidate would you go with for wine?
Ángel Íñiguez: Due to my work as an adviser to the Parliamentary Group of Citizens, the person with whom I have coincided the most this legislature is Henar Moreno (IU), but I would go with any of the other candidates.
Eduardo Peña: With Héctor Narro (Vinea’s candidate for Mayor of Logroño). I’ve known him since I was a kid and I know that, in addition to being a fun guy, he’s a great person.
