Puertollano (Ciudad Real) (EFE).- The president of Castilla-La Mancha and candidate for re-election, Emiliano García-Page, has said in front of the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, that he will always raise his voice when the independentistas seek privileges ” And if those independentistas at some point have used a gun with more reason than with the ETA murderers not even around the corner”.
The La Central fairground in Puertollano (Ciudad Real) has become too small this Sunday for the 1,800 people who have attended a campaign event by Pedro Sánchez and Emiliano García-Page together with the Minister of Territorial Policy and Government spokesperson, Isabel Rodríguez, who was mayor of this city, and the candidate for re-election, Adolfo Muñiz.
In his speech, García-Page has indicated that he exercises “freedom of conscience” without involving anyone in his opinions and has added that they will always see him in the fight against “all kinds of privileges”, especially when the independentistas seek ” bring the ember to your sardine”, which amounts to “that the rest of us do not have the same”.
“I will always raise my voice, and if those independentistas, moreover, at some point have used a gun, with more reason than with the ETA murderers not even around the corner,” he declared in front of President Sánchez and the Minister Rodríguez and applause from the public.
The socialist candidate for re-election in Castilla-La Mancha has thanked “everyone” for allowing him to “defend this land above anything else”, and after the shouts of ‘President, president’ by the attendees, he has assured that with he “there is no cheating or cardboard” since “I have always put, put and will put the interests of Castilla-La Mancha above those of my party and of all the parties together, let no one be fooled.”
He stressed that Castilla-La Mancha does not ask for more than the rest but “I will not admit less than the rest” and for this reason he fights against “the privileges” that other territories seek: “I can say that everything that is good for Castilla-La Mancha is good for Spain, and everything that is good for Spain is good for Castilla-La Mancha, and I don’t know if they can say this in the rest of Spain”.
For his part, Sánchez did not mention anything about the EH Bildu lists in his speech, nor did he allude to this issue at his first electoral campaign rally on Saturday in Seville.
In the PSOE they want to focus the campaign for the municipal and regional elections in May on talking about their management and they plan to make announcements like the one made by Sánchez this Sunday, announcing that the next Council of Ministers will approve a plan so that the elderly 56 years can go to the cinema on Tuesdays for two euros.
The event began with the intervention of Isabel Rodríguez, who asked, as she did in the elections four years ago, to consolidate a “triple alliance” between the three administrations and specified that “in order to anchor the future of this city that Sánchez continue to be president of Spain, Emiliano García-Page of Castilla-La Mancha and Adolfo Muñiz mayor of Puertollano”.
In addition, he has commented that Puertollano could not have had “a better mayor” with Muñiz who, as he has stressed, “has far surpassed his predecessor”. EFE
