Migrants arriving from Central and South America cross irregularly on rafts made from tractor tires and wood.
These means of transportation are made by people who are dedicated to crossing merchandise and transporting migrants to southern Mexico, in Tapachula.
Jorge Matalí, is a migrant who crossed the river that divides both borders with his daughter, his wife and a group of about 10 Venezuelan migrants.
This group expressed exhaustion from so much walking, the high temperatures, and accused that the Mexican Police left them without money on their way.
“The purpose is to be able to reach the United States, with the families,” Matalí said.
He added that the migrants only ask to get to the northern border of Mexico safely to be able to cross into the US That they not be robbed on the way and “that the Mexican authorities help us with the permits.”
This South American migrant maintained that his idea is to be able to request asylum in the US legally and to be able to support their families.
He remarked that in Venezuela they earn about 5 dollars a month, which is not enough to support themselves as a family.

In Ciudad Hidalgo, on the banks of the Suchiate River, two members of the National Migration Institute (INM), Child Protection Officers (OPI) and the National Guard (GN) carry out daily visits, without carrying out document checks or detention of migrants.
Meanwhile, other Mexican federal agents carried out patrols with an ATV in this same place.
Jaqueline, from Honduras and who crossed on foot with a friend from Guatemala, said that immigration stops people who try to cross the Suchiate river irregularly, deep and with high water levels.
Despite being on this southern border, he said that he will stay in Guatemala, since traveling to the United States is complicated.
“They told me that the entrance to the United States is closed and it is far away, I have no money and no job to continue,” Jaqueline added.
Migrants arriving from the countries of Ecuador, Venezuela, Honduras, El Salvador and other nations enter the Suchiate river at all hours on rafts and cross the “Coyote”, Limón, Palenque, Rojo, Armadillo, Gravel, Lipa1 and 2.
Meanwhile, the Mexican immigration authorities are making efforts to detain migrants who manage to evade certain checkpoints.
Migrants in Tapachula
This afternoon, migrants also remain on the outskirts of the “Ecological” park in Tapachula. The authorities determined to stop granting the 45-day Multiple Migration Formats to transit for 45 days through national territory.
This migratory flow occurs in the midst of the end of Title 42, which restricted access to the US for reasons of the pandemic.
While Title 8 returned, a norm that has historically governed migration between the two nations, along with its “CBP One” program that proposes solving immigration procedures to be admitted to the US on a regular basis.
On Thursday, the United States repatriated a total of 942 migrants to Mexico due to the end of the immigration policy. At the common border, the presence of 26,560 migrants was recorded.
On Friday, Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard clarified that Mexico will not receive more than 1,000 migrants a day deported from the United States, since it does not have the capacity to care for them nor the will to accept it.
The entrance to the southern border of Mexico, without security reinforcement and open to the passage of migrants, was first published in EFE Noticias.
