Ávila, May 14 (EFE).- The Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, affirmed this Sunday in Ávila that the inclusion in the electoral lists of EH Bildu of those convicted of belonging to the murderous gang ETA supposes “unjustified damage to the victims of terrorism.
In statements to journalists, before participating in a PSOE electoral act, the minister has asked these candidates to at least “be brave, take a step forward and apologize for the unjustified damage caused by the terrorist organization” to which they belonged.
One step back
Their inclusion in the candidacies “is to take a step back and represents a lack of absolute ethical values,” Grande-Marlaska insisted during her visit to Ávila to support the candidacy of Eva Arias (PSOE) for mayor of the capital.
On the other hand, the minister has asked the national president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and his party to “stop using terrorism that did so much damage to society.”
“In the PSOE as well as in the PP, many suffered on the front line, especially the councilors in the Basque Country, and out of respect for them and all the victims of terrorism, we ask that they stop using it,” he pointed out.
Respect for legality
Convinced that the Bildu lists “cannot be liked by the Democrats”, Grande-Marlaska has nevertheless appealed to the current legality.
“We are faced with a Rule of Law and there are legal things that we do not like at all and those are the greatness and miseries of the Rule of Law”, he concluded. EFE
