The fire started around 4:28 p.m. and personnel from the Environment Service of the Cabildo de La Palma, Eirif, personnel from the national park and the MI-51 and MI-61 helicopters of the Government of the Canary Islands have moved to the place.
The president of the palm island corporation points out that there is no evaluation of the perimeter, in which two aerial means operate and 11 downloads have been made.
The mayor of the municipality of El Paso, Sergio Javier Rodríguez, has declared in RTVC that the situation “does not seem very complicated because the atmospheric situation is stable”, although he acknowledges that “the worst of all is the orography, for which other two air means.
As a result of the fire, the trails in the Caldera de Taburiente National Park, the crest trail between El Pilar and El Time, and the trails around Pico Bejenado have been closed. EFE
