Seville, (EFE).- The Sevillian singer Jesús Montero, finalist in the 2022 edition of the Eurojunior contest, has been very confident, at 13 years old, that “one day” he will represent Televisión Española in the Eurovision festival, which tonight celebrates its 2023 edition in Liverpool (England).
In statements to EFE, the singer from the town of Arahal explained that he would like to represent Spain “because it would be a pride to represent my country and thus fulfill my dream, in addition to being known outside the country”, within his intention of being “an international singer”.
“I am studying and preparing myself for it, giving singing, music theory, piano and learning French and English classes, which I am very good at”, he pointed out, adding that “I am sure that by working hard I will achieve it”.
Finalist in other contests
Regarding the musical style with which he would like to attend the festival, he points out that he would bet on “some happy and lively theme in which he can also show technique and vocal power”, and adds that Eurovision “is a festival that I have followed since I was little, And what I like the most is the emotion and expectation that it arouses in Spain and in the participating countries”.
He recalled that last year he was part of the junior Eurovision team “since they chose me to do the choirs for Carlos Higes”, an experience in which he spent several days in Madrid recording in the music production studio of Televisión Española, “and We had a great time, it was an unforgettable experience and I would like to repeat it as the representative of Spain”, he specified.
Jesús Montero is immersed in the promotion of his latest single, ‘Tocar el Sol’, while preparing the launch of his new single for next June, while he has just qualified for the semifinals of the Canal Sur contest ‘Land of talent’.
He is also a finalist in other national talent shows such as “’La Voz Kids’, in 2019, for Antena 3 Televisión; or ‘Idol Kids’, in 2021, broadcast by Telecinco and with Isabel Pantoja among the members of the jury. EFE
