Gómez was a member of Eusko Alkartasuna, a member party of the EH Bildu coalition, of which he was a municipal spokesperson for several years until he left the corporation in 2019, in which the popular ones have no representation.
This PP militant has formalized before the Zone Electoral Board his resignation from being part of the candidacy in Güeñes so as not to harm the party, given the information that has been disseminated in recent days about his political affiliation with Bildu in previous years.
In a letter addressed to his party, to which EFE has had access this Friday, Gómez emphasizes that he has always “condemned ETA and terrorism.”
“I trust that my resignation will serve to clear up these doubts and, of course, I will continue working so that freedom is, sooner rather than later, a reality in the Basque Country”, affirms the former PP candidate.
During his time in the City Council, Gómez Ruiz, dedicated to agricultural activity, had a judicial confrontation over a dispute over the boundaries of a piece of land with the mayor, Koldo Artaraz, of the PNV.
