Almería, (EFE)
After the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, pointed out last night in Córdoba the advisability of holding a Conference of Presidents as soon as possible to deal with the issue of the drought, the Minister of Sustainability and spokesman for the Andalusian Government, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco , told journalists in Cabo de Gata (Almería) this Thursday that the intention is that, from the “institutional level”, all the administrations together are capable of “working and aligning synergies” against the drought.
“For a few weeks everyone has been talking about drought, even Pedro Sánchez has been talking about drought, something he hasn’t been doing in recent years. It is true that in the Junta de Andalucía the work has been carried out in favor of the water works since the beginning of 2019 ”, he said.
After pointing out that, “unfortunately”, the drought has caught President Sánchez “with work undone”, he criticizes that an “absolutely electoralist” Council of Ministers has been convened today.
Planning, investment and commitment
“Nobody is aware that Pedro Sánchez and his 22 ministers, locked in a room, are not going to solve the problem of the drought,” he stated, while predicting that the measures announced this Thursday “will not go away to fulfill”.
For Fernández-Pacheco, the solution has to come from “planning, with investment, with commitment. Exactly what the Junta de Andalucía has been doing ”, he added.
Thus, he recalled that the Andalusian Government has promoted three drought decrees for 300 million euros, while only 9.7 million euros have been allocated to 67 percent of the Andalusian territory that “manages the Guadalquivir Hydrographic Confederation.”
Asked, on the other hand, about the resolution of the Electoral Board of Seville that considers that some of his statements and others made by the Minister of Educational Development, Patricia del Pozo, in the press conference after the Governing Council violated the Electoral Law for its “partisan” content, he has said that he has not been notified of anything.
“At this time (…) I have not yet been notified of anything, nor has the Junta de Andalucía been notified. When we know the literalness of that document, we will be able to make some statement about it ”, he has settled. EFE
