With a 6-point advantage, Guaguas started the second set of the match (7-1), a great difference difficult to recover by the players of a Rio Duero Soria team that needed to force a fourth game if they wanted to recover their chances of becoming champions of league.
The coach of the Soriano team was forced to request a timeout (9-3) due to the imposition of Guaguas, but the locals did not give their rivals a chance to recover (14-7).

The beginning of the third set was even (8-8) but a point advantage for the Sorianos (8-9) forced Sergio Camarero to request a timeout so that his team would not relax. The scoreboard leaned towards the Sorianos (12-14) but Guaguas recovered the difference (14-14).
The score advanced point by point until, after a tie at 18, the Sorianos took a slight lead (18-20). A new tie at 20 lifted the Gran Canaria fans from their seats but, a more successful Rio Duero Soria than in the two previous sets, added their first point (2-1).
