Madrid/Cádiz, (EFE).- The Ministry of Equality has confirmed this Wednesday the macho nature of the murder, last Friday, of a 39-year-old woman in Jerez (Cádiz), with which the number of women who have died hands of their partners or ex-partners so far this year has risen to 14 and 1,198 since 2003.
As reported in a statement by the Ministry of Equality, the victim did not have minor children and there were no previous complaints of gender violence against the alleged aggressor, who is in provisional detention.
The victim, a 39-year-old Romanian woman, was found dead in the early hours of last Friday in the town of Lomopardo, in Jerez de la Frontera.
The Minister for Equality, Irene Montero, and the Government delegate against Gender Violence, Victoria Rosell, have conveyed their absolute condemnation and rejection of this sexist murder and have conveyed their support to family and friends of the victim.
