Castelló (EFE).- The mayoress of Castelló and candidate for re-election by the PSPV-PSOE, Amparo Marco (Castelló, 1968), tells EFE that if a series were filmed in the city, she would like it not to be a dystopian fiction and that Twitter is the social network that best suits her way of expressing herself, because she is “direct” and does not go “around the bush”.
An economist by training, Marco became the first female mayor in the history of the city of Castelló in 2015 and recovered for his party a mayoralty that the PP had held for 24 years, while in the May 28 elections he seeks to revalidate the rod command for a third legislature.
QUESTION: Define your city in one sentence.
ANSWER: Castelló is a welcoming and open city, increasingly sustainable and inclusive, a comfortable city to live in and that meets the ideal conditions to undertake, take root and develop the life projects of its neighbors.
first measure
Q: If you win and become mayor your first move would be…
A: In eight years as mayor, I have seen many of the measures that we proposed carried out, some of them very important, such as the General Plan. For this new term, one of the first measures that I would like to see materialized would be the completion of the western round. Now that we have the project and we have financing, it can be put out to tender and Castelló will finally have an infrastructure that has historically been claimed. We have many actions underway or planned for the coming months, and we will work to carry them out. In addition, we will also continue our roadmap in the social field, with the reinforcement of welfare and employment policies that have given such good results in recent years.
Q: Three words with which you would like to define your city at the end of your term.
A: Sustainable, inclusive and entrepreneurial.
Q: What series would you like to see filmed in your city?
A: I am not a series fan, I have very little leisure time and when I have it I adapt to what my daughters want to do or see, but if a series were filmed in Castelló I would like it to project hope for the future, no dystopian fiction . I believe that the horizon is hopeful if we build tomorrow together and that Castelló is an example of how cities can transform and respond to the challenges of the 21st century, such as the climate crisis.
Networks
Q: Are you an active person on social networks? Which do you prefer?
A: I like to use social networks to tell what I do and what I think. I think it is a way to reach the public very directly, without intermediaries. If I had to choose one, it would be Twitter. It’s the one I know how to handle best and I think it fits my way of expressing myself, because I’m direct and concise, I don’t like to beat around the bush.
Q: What is your favorite part of the campaign? What are you most looking forward to these weeks?
A: Campaigns are complicated but also exciting periods of work. Being in contact with people and hearing their proposals, what they think, what they want, what they would like us to do, is what gives me the most. In the end, a campaign is a creative and listening process, which allows you to directly touch the state of opinion and mood of the people. EFE
