Seville, (EFE).- The Consumption Inspectorate of the Junta de Andalucía carried out a total of 14,876 inspection actions in 2022 to verify compliance with consumer protection regulations in 12,615 establishments and opened 2,143 disciplinary proceedings.
In a note, the Ministry of Health and Consumption has reported that 446 samples of industrial products and food were taken for testing.
And an important part of these actions was framed in the execution of the 23 campaigns of the Consumption Inspection Plan of the Junta de Andalucía. In relation to which, 8,007 inspection reports were drawn up in 4,908 establishments.
According to the provisional data for the year 2022 collected by the Consumer Inspection and Regulation Service (General Directorate of Consumer Affairs).
In addition to the almost 15,000 inspection reports issued, in terms of product safety, 79 risky products were notified from Andalusia, out of a total of 2,865 notified at the European level. As a consequence of the inspection actions (ex officio or after a complaint from consumers and users).
Inspection campaigns
In the past financial year, 2,143 disciplinary proceedings were opened for consumer offences. And 2,226 were resolved, with a fine amount of 12.6 million euros.
The Consumption Inspection Plan of the Junta de Andalucía for 2023 foresees the carrying out of 20 campaigns, which cover around 9,000 controls.
And the largest number of inspections will take place in the services sector, with the forecast of some 5,190 actions within the framework of 9 different campaigns on: establishments, including food establishments. Those who provide services and the supply markets, distance contracting, housing, advertising and unfair commercial practices. Airlines, catering establishments, vehicle repair shops; telecommunications and water supply entities.
National Plan for Official Control of the Food Chain
The industrial products sector contemplates 6 campaigns and 1,900 actions, in the areas of: industrial products (general campaign), safety and labeling of toys. Safety and labeling of costumes, masks, masks and the like intended for use by children under 14 years of age. Objects with precious metals (guarantee contrast), national inspection campaign in the Market Sector Plan for the surveillance of non-food products (2022-25). And leather goods and travel items (bags, suitcases and wallets).
In the food sector, 5 inspection campaigns and another 1,900 actions are planned, and to the general control plan for information and food quality, the campaigns are added: inspection of compliance with quality regulations for meat, ham, Iberian pork shoulder and loin, inspection within the framework of the National Plan for Official Control of the Food Chain (2021-25), canned fish in vegetable oil (labeling and composition) and the national honey inspection campaign ( labeling, exogenous sugars and composition).
