Galicia
The indefinite strike called by the State Confederation of Medical Unions (CESM) in Galicia on the 11th could come to an end if the promoters of the strike and those responsible for the Galician Health Service reach “minimum agreements” at the meeting this Wednesday.
This Tuesday, the president of CESM in Galicia, Ramón Barreiro, asked the Minister of Health, Julio García Comesaña, involvement and commitments “concrete and clear” and “with a date” of application, not promises in “imperfect future”.
Galician doctors protest the exhaustion of health professionals and the deterioration of public health, and demand quality care and safety for patients, which translates into demands such as the 35-hour work week.

Madrid public health workers are called to two 24-hour strikes to demand a 35-hour work week and other labor and remuneration improvements, such as the disappearance of the “theft” of 232 euros from the doctors’ guards for the application of the 37.5 hour day.
The first call is a strike aimed at the 78,000 employees of public hospitals, health centers and Summa 112 and signed by four of the five unions of the Sectoral Board of Health (Satse, CCOO, CSIT-UP and UGT); while the second brings together the 12,000 doctors from Madrid’s public hospitals in a day of strike that will end on Thursday morning, called by Amyts and AFEM.
