Carlos Tena, one of the symbols of the Movida
He was closely linked to Radio Nacional and Televisión Española, where he directed and presented some of the most mythical programs of the seventies and eighties such as “Popgrama” (1977-1980), “Música, maestro” (1981), “Caja de ritmos” (1983), “Pop what?” (1984) or “Auan ba buluba balam bamboo” (1985-1986). Thanks to these spaces he became one of the symbols of the Movida.
One of the most remembered moments of his career was the performance of the Vulpes group in the program “Caja de ritmos”, with the song “I like being a fox”, which led to the definitive cancellation of the space.
After leaving TVE, he continued to present various musical programs on other television channels such as Telecinco, Antena 3 or Onda Cero.
In 2003 he established his residence in Havana (Cuba), where he was a correspondent for Cubainformación and published articles in the digital Cubadebate.cu.
Likewise, he maintained “El blog de Carlos Tena” on the internet, with entries on politics, which was active until September 2017.
In May 2016, he was awarded one of the Music and Independent Creation Awards (Pop Eye) in Spain, which were delivered at the Pop Art Festival in Cáceres.
