Madrid (EFE).- Inflation eased to 3.3% year-on-year in March, 2.7 points below the February rate, due to the decline in electricity and fuel prices compared to the strong increases registered in March 2022 after the start of the Ukrainian war.
According to the data confirmed this Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the consumer price index (CPI) thus marked the lowest rate in March since August 2021, while the underlying -without energy products or food unprocessed- only decreased by one tenth, to 7.5%.
Faced with the decreases in energy, the INE details that food and non-alcoholic beverages continued to rise in March with a rate of 16.5%, one tenth less than the previous month.
