Santa Cruz de Tenerife (EFE) , after four years “in which fundamental decisions have been delayed” for the archipelago.
In this way, the nationalist candidate expressed himself this Wednesday during the presentation of the members of the candidacy of the Canary Islands Coalition (CC) to the autonomous constituency to the Parliament of the Canary Islands, in which he is accompanied in the first positions by Beatriz Calzada, José Miguel Barragán and Sergio Rodriguez.
Fernando Clavijo has indicated that the candidacy represents “a determined commitment” by CC to combine experience “and filming” with youth and professionalism to address “the important challenges” facing the Canary Islands over the next four years.
In this regard, he has indicated that in the current legislature there have been four complex years in which CC has faced its responsibility from the opposition “seriously” but, he has regretted, it has not been possible to contribute to the work of the executive after the parties in the Government of the Canary Islands have not accepted “not one of the more than 600 initiatives” presented by the nationalist formation.
The Government of the Canary Islands “has ignored” these proposals despite “despite the fact that we reached out to it”, to which Fernando Clavijo has warned that CC plans to have people at the head of the institutions “who put the interests above all of the canaries, not the political initials”.
CC does not have “obedience to any boss in Madrid because nobody is going to tell us what we have to say, think or support since we know it perfectly: it is what the citizens tell us”, the nationalist candidate asserted, to reiterate that his formation “does not have any kind of ties”.
CC has also made mistakes that have been corrected during its years in opposition, continued Fernando Clavijo, who has insisted that after the May 28 elections, the red lines of the Canarian nationalists are Podemos and Vox “because we do not believe in his vision of the Canary Islands”.
For the rest, CC wants to articulate a government program, “not an exchange of chairs” because, he has pointed out, fundamental decision-making for the Canary Islands has been delayed “and there is no time to lose” on issues such as health, which is ” a disaster” despite having a billion euros more and with indicators such as that Canarian families are now “17 percent poorer”.
Fernando Clavijo has also pointed out that no one has addressed him to apologize after the decision of the Supreme Court to archive the proceedings opened by the so-called Reparos case, during his time as mayor of La Laguna, nor have the rest of the mayors received it. to whom the complaint was extended.
However, he has continued, the officials who were also affected by these actions do deserve an apology and in terms of the political repercussion, Fernando Clavijo has said that he hopes that the citizens will be the ones to judge the attitudes of those who have presented “a political complaint ”.
This contrasts with the CC’s position regarding the “Mediator” and “Tito Berni” case, Clavijo has explicitly said in reference to the national deputy of the PSOE for Fuerteventura Juan Bernardo Fuentes Curbelo, about which the nationalist formation has demanded political explanations “that still They have not arrived”, but with regard to judicial action in this area.
