Zaragoza (EFE).- The violinist Ara Malikian will receive the Medal of the Cortes de Aragón 2023, the highest distinction of the Aragonese Chamber. The Board and the Board of Spokesmen of Parliament have agreed to it as well as recognition of his “exceptional talent and unquestionable contribution to classical and contemporary music” and his contribution to the worldwide projection of the Community.
An award that will be delivered on April 23, Aragon Day, at the institutional ceremony that will take place at the Aljafería Palace, headquarters of the Parliament. They want to recognize the contribution of the Lebanese violinist, of Armenian descent, to the dissemination of his host land, parliamentary sources report.
The Medal of the Courts of Aragon, which is awarded annually, thus recognizes the “values of self-improvement, courage and talent” that Malikian embodies. The artist is considered one of the best violinists of the 21st century. The distinction recognizes his roots in his host country and his “manifested passion for Aragon”, a land with which he has been linked for more than twenty years.
