Chicago (USA), (EFE).- Jon Rahm won the Augusta Masters this Sunday, the second ‘big’ of his career, and became the fourth Spaniard capable of achieving this feat after Severiano Ballesteros, José María Olazabal and Sergio Garcia.
Rahm triumphed after coming back from two shots behind Brooks Koepka in the fourth round to don the green for the first time in his career.
The one from Barrika once again gave Spain glory in Augusta six years after Sergio García did, in 2017.
It was crowned on the day that Severiano Ballesteros, the first Spanish Masters champion, would turn 66.
‘Seve’, who died in 2011 and is considered one of the best golfers of all time, won this tournament in 1980 and 1983.
He was joined by Olazábal, who dressed in green in 1994 and in 1999.
It took 18 years for Spain to triumph again at the Augusta National, led by Sergio García in 2017.
This Sunday, after a tournament marked by heat on the first day, and by the storms on Friday and Saturday, Rahm definitely entered the history of the Masters and Spanish golf.
