Madrid (EFE).- The couple from the Madrid town of Colmenar Viejo who was arrested for the alleged mistreatment of their eight minor children, who were “physically punished and malnourished” and confined to a room, have been released precautionary measures, Civil Guard sources have told EFE.
The parents, a 45-year-old doctor and a 44-year-old woman, have been provisionally withdrawn the parental authority of the minors, of those who have a restraining order and who have been admitted to a first reception center of the Community of Madrid.
The arrest took place on March 29 under the direction of the Investigating Court number 1 of Colmenar Viejo, within the framework of an investigation by the Judicial Police Team, and the Duty Prosecutor, Guardian Agents of the Local Police, Social Services, as well as agents of the Women-Minor Team (EMUME) of the Madrid Command.
The investigation originated days before, after a complaint of alleged ill-treatment against a minor, beginning a detailed study of the family environment.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, the first investigations revealed that the minors used to constantly miss class, since the father, who works as a doctor in a Madrid hospital, justified school absences, and that he also mistreated the mother of the minors, a 44-year-old Spanish woman, who in turn “also offered degrading treatment and neglect of her eight children.”
The judicial investigation confirmed “a serious situation of neglect” and domestic violence, allegedly carried out by the father, who is also being investigated for a possible crime of theft, because when searching the house, uniforms and hospital supplies were found whose origin could not be determined. accredit.
In the registry it was clear that the house presented “a state of unsanitary conditions in all the rooms except the office” of the father, while the hygienic and sanitary situation of the bathrooms and kitchen was “terrible”.
The eight minors lived badly in a room, they were prohibited from stepping on the living room and they were punished by physical abuse or leaving them out in the open in the patio of the house.
