London (EFE).- The actress Daisy Ripley, who played the “jedi” master Knight Rey in the latest installments of “Star Wars”, will lead the return of the saga to the big screen a trilogy directed by three different directors, one of whom will be, for the first time, a woman, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.
The announcement was made in London by Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy at the annual “Star Wars Celebration” convention, which is being held in Europe again for the first time since 2016.
Ridley herself appeared by surprise to the delight of the fans in the act in which the Disney franchise unveiled its great news, beginning with the trilogy that will be directed by Dave Filoni and James Mangold, in addition to the aforementioned Obaid-Chinoy.
The film by the Canadian director of Pakistani origin will take place after the end of the previous trilogy and episode IX of the saga, “The Rise of Skywalker”, and will narrate how Rey creates a new Jedi order after the supposed defeat of the dark forces.
Three different directors for the return trilogy of “Star Wars”
Meanwhile, the film directed by Mangold, who also made the next installment of Indiana Jones, “The Dial of Destiny” (Indiana Jones and Destiny Day), will focus on the birth of the Jedi. For his part, Filoni will film the development of the New Republic, created after the destruction of the Empire, and which is also the plot axis of most of the series in the “Star Wars” universe for Disney+.
Precisely, one of those series, “Ahsoka”, which is presented as one of the most desired by fans, unveiled a trailer on the first day of the convention that shows its protagonist, Rosario Dawson, in the role that gives its name to the product.
“Something is coming, something dark, I can feel it,” says the “jedi” Ahsoka in the trailer, a character made popular by her appearance in the series “The Mandalorian.”
Hayden Christensen is also expected to appear as Anakin Skywalker in “Ahsoka”, which will arrive on Disney+ in August of this year.
Those present also had the opportunity to see exclusively the first trailer of another new series “Skeleton Crew”, with Jude Law in the leading role, who will be surrounded by a cast full of children to recreate adventures that have been compared to those of the legendary eighties movie “The Goonies”.
Some of the directors who will make the episodes of “Skeleton Crew” are Jon Watts, David Lowery, The Daniels, Jake Schreier, Bryce Dallas Howard, or Lee Isaac Chung.
