Madrid (EFE).- Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE) has confirmed this Wednesday that the singer, composer and now also presenter Ruth Lorenzo will be in charge of communicating live the points of the Spanish jury in the Eurovision 2023 final that will take place on the next 13 May in Liverpool (United Kingdom).
“It is a responsibility and I hope to do it well, that you are happy and proud, especially for the United Kingdom and Eurovision that I love with all my heart”, said the Murcian artist in her public appearance on RTVE.
Lorenzo, who represented Spain at this festival in 2014 and currently hosts the “Cover Night” talent contest on La 1, has pointed out that this new mission is something that has been in demand for a long time.
“They have asked for it a lot over time and I think that having representation from someone who has been on that stage is a very nice nod to what it means,” said the singer, who finished in tenth place with the song “Dancing in the rain”.
The Murcian, who will replace in this role the model and presenter Nieves Álvarez, who has held it for the last five years, will communicate the assessment of the Spanish side from Benidorm (Alicante), the venue for the pre-selection from which the national candidate emerged.
At the press conference it was also reported that it will be on April 27 when the official farewell from Madrid to the Spanish representative in Eurovision, Blanca Paloma, will take place on her way to Liverpool, who will be accompanied by several colleagues from the second Benidorm Fest.
