Madrid (EFE).- The Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) has increased its estimate of public deficit for 2023 by nine tenths, up to 4.2% of GDP, due to the cost of measures against the energy crisis and the of consumer prices resulting from the war in Ukraine.
The report on the initial budgets of the Public Administrations for 2023, presented this Wednesday by AIReF, also reviews the macroeconomic scenario and maintains the growth forecast for this year at 1.6% (compared to the 5.5% reached in 2022), in a context of better expectations for global growth and moderation in the price of raw materials.
Average inflation will slow to 4% in 2023, due to the base effect of comparing with the high prices of 2022 and the moderation of energy prices, while underlying inflation (excluding energy and unprocessed food) will be higher , 5.4%.
