Palma, Apr 4 (EFE).- The Brazilian Real Madrid player Vinicius Jr and the former Mallorca partner accused of insulting him during the LaLiga match that both teams played on February 5 at the Son Moix stadium, declared this Tuesday before the investigating judge in the case, Martina Mora, in the courts of Palma.
The 20-year-old defendant arrived at the Vía Alemania courts in Palma this Tuesday at around 9:10 a.m., covered with a mask and sunglasses. He was summoned at 10:00 a.m. and has testified for just over half an hour before the investigating judge, where he has expressed repentance for the facts of which he is accused and has acknowledged the insults.
At the end of his statement, hidden under a gray hood and hiding his face with a pink folder, the investigated person, accompanied by his public defender, went down the emergency stairs and left the judicial building through the back door to avoid the media waiting at the gates of the courts.
For his part, shortly before 10:00 a.m., the Real Madrid player testified by videoconference for about ten minutes before the judge and reported that that day in Son Moix the atmosphere was not tense or different compared to other matches in other stadiums.
The Mallorcan fan, investigated for a hate crime, was identified by the National Police as the author of the xenophobic insults to Vinicius Jr during the LaLiga match between Real Mallorca and Real Madrid on February 5.
The Citizen Security Brigade and the Drone Unit of the National Police began an investigation into the alleged racist insults towards the Brazilian player that resulted in the identification of the now ex-member of the vermilion team.
Real Mallorca, which has also taken part in this case, expelled the young man, withdrew his card for three years and prohibited him from entering the Son Moix stadium. He was also fined 4,000 euros and barred from sporting events for 12 months.
The young man under investigation was also denounced by LaLiga for racist insults against the Nigerian Samu Chukwueze after the match against Villareal on February 18 at Son Moix. EFE
