Seville, (EFE).- The Andalusian Government assured this Tuesday that it maintains its roadmap on the regulation of soils that give the right to surface water and irrigation in the area of Doñana “without harming” the National Park and remarks that the The objective is to find a solution for the farmer and who aspires to an agreement with the central government.
This was stated at a press conference by the spokesman for the Executive and Minister of Sustainability, Environment and Blue Economy, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco, regarding the position of the PSOE-A on this matter, which does not rule out possible expropriations and compensation to areas of irrigation without the right to water as a possible way out of the problem.
The spokesman answers that the Andalusian government’s road map consists of “providing solutions” to the farmers of the North Crown of Doñana “without ever harming” the National Park.
The objective is “to be able to provide surface water to alleviate the situation of injustice that farmers in the area have suffered for so long.”
In his opinion, it is the position defended by the Andalusian Government “always” based on dialogue with the different administrations, with the territory and with the “aspiration” to also reach agreements with the central Government.
Controversy with the central government
The plenary session of the Andalusian Parliament debates in its session on April 12 and 13 the consideration of the bill of PP and Vox to regulate the soils that give the right to surface water in the area of Doñana, a text that is guaranteed continue with its processing by the most popular.
The initiative, which generates a significant controversy with the central government, also with warnings from the European Commission about its possible impact on the Doñana aquifer, will continue its course (by urgent procedure) as already announced by the PP, which guarantees that ” does not touch” the aquifer and that protects the National Park like never before.
It will not be the only measure on Doñana that will go to plenary, since a non-legal proposal of the PSOE will be debated in which, among other matters, a bilateral commission between the Government and the Junta is requested to jointly analyze the issues that affect Doñana, including the execution of water works.
The PSOE, which believes that the proposal of the PP and Vox incurs several “illegalities”, also demands that the Special Plan for the North Crown of Doñana be complied with -approved by a socialist government in 2014- and that if there is a modification or change of the same is done with a prior report from the monitoring commission and with an opinion from the Participation Council, of which Europe must be informed.
