Murcia, Apr 3 (EFE).- The Argentine Marco Trungelliti beat the British Kyle Edmund on Monday 1-6, 6-3 and 6-3 in the star duel of the first round of the IV ATP Challenger Costa Cálida Region of Murcia, that is played in the facilities of the Real Murcia Tennis Club 1919.
Trungelliti, 33 years old and 217 in the world, came back against Edmund, 28 and currently ranked 512, although he was 14th before various injuries took their toll and forced him to interrupt his career.
For his part, Pablo Llamas, a Real Murcia CT 1919 player, passed the preliminary phase after beating the Norwegian Viktor Durasovic 6-3, 6-0 on Monday, thus accessing the final draw of the tournament, in which he will debut against Italian Lorenzo Giustino.
Meanwhile, Pablo Martínez, also from the local club, got his first two ATP points by beating the Belarusian Andrey Chepelev 6-3, 4-6 and 7-5 in the preliminary phase before being eliminated at the hands of the Dutch Jesper de Jong, who defeated him 6-3 and 6-2.
They continue in the final draw Alejandro Moro, beating Akira Santillan 6-4, 4-6 and 6-2; Carlos Sánchez, after beating Álvaro López 6-1 and 6-4; and Daniel Mérida, beating Orlando Luz 6-4, 3-6 and 6-4.
Daniel Dutra also advanced, beating Gerard Campana 7-5, 4-6 and 7-5; and Mikhail Kukushkin, who got rid of Gabriel Debru 6-2 and 6-3 in the capital of Segura.xs
