Sydney (Australia) (EFE).- The Dutchman Max Verstappen (Red Bull) was the fastest this Saturday in the last free practice sessions of the Australian Grand Prix, at the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne, ahead of the Spanish Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin).
In the best of his laps, Verstappen, current world champion and who has never won in Australia, set a time of one minute, 17 seconds and 565 thousandths, on soft tyres.
The Dutchman, who also came first in the first free practice sessions on Friday, was 162 thousandths faster than the Spanish Fernando Alonso, second, and the Frenchman Esteban Ocon (Alpine), who signed the third fastest time at 373 thousandths, all of them with tires soft.
The Spanish Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), who occupied the top positions in the first part of these last tests, finished in seventh place, 562 thousandths of a second behind the leader.
After the third and last free practice, this Saturday there will also be qualifying, which will order the starting formation for Sunday’s race: scheduled for 58 laps to complete a 306.1-kilometre route.
