Bogotá (EFE).- The energetic emotion of Bazzar, the show that Cirque du Soleil presents in Bogotá between this Wednesday and May 7, dazzles the public of the capital, which accompanied the first presentation of this show that combined various acrobatic disciplines.
In Parque Salitre Mágico, the lights in the tent went out and the colorful costumes of the artists gave birth to a show starring a teacher looking for a way to fix his hat.
The show is marked by the interaction of the protagonist with the public, who responded excitedly to each stimulus that the master of ceremony threw at him.
Bazzar is a combination of many colors and countless characters found in a traditional bazaar, according to the organizers.
For this show, Cirque du Soleil decided to have the performers showcase their technique and movements in a Mallakhamb act, which is a traditional Indian sport.
There two artists performed aerial yoga poses and wrestling holds with a fixed vertical wooden pole.
In addition, the artists exhibited movements from acrobatic disciplines such as teeterboarding, portage, acrobatic bicycle, contortion, skate duet, trapeze duet, aerial rope, fire manipulation and slackline.
The show, which featured live and pre-recorded music, also featured references to the circus’s founders and their passions, which were breathing fire and walking on stilts.
27 countries under a tent at Cirque du Soleil
This is the fifth tent show with which the circus visits Bogotá and the sixth in total in Colombia, as well as the return of this group to the Andean country after three years with 450 performances.
Bazzar has 75 employees from 27 countries and erecting the tent took eight days, while picking it up will take another three.
The tent is 19 meters high, 51 meters in diameter and has 4 poles of 25 meters each, as well as a capacity for 2,600 people in each function.
Also during the show, 34 complete costumes and more than 200 components including hairpieces, wigs and shoes were used.
