Zaragoza, March 29 (EFE) The 10K will be held.
In this edition, in which the circuit has been retouched by removing turns and slopes compared to the previous one in the last part of the race to try to make it faster, the registration will be close to 6,000 participants between both tests, which would mean a record.
The marathon has more than 1,400 registered while in the 10K the figure is 4,000 although both are expected to increase until registration closes.
The presentation of the test took place this Wednesday at the Zaragoza City Hall with the presence of Cristina García, Delegate Councilor for Sports of the Zaragoza City Council; Mariano Soriano, General Director of Sports of the Government of Aragon, and the Spanish champion of 3,000 meters on the indoor track, Cristina Espejo, as well as sponsors and organizers of the race.
The race, which will start and finish in Plaza del Pilar, will cross emblematic areas of the city such as the bridges over the Ebro River, Expo 2008, the banks of the Ebro, Roman Walls, Parque Grande, Plaza de Aragón , Plaza de España or Paseo de Independencia.
The test has registrations from France, the United Kingdom and Italy and more than 61% of the marathon are runners from outside Zaragoza. Similarly, female participation in the 10K reaches 35%.
Last year Adane Kebede Gebre was the winner with a time of 2h.11m.38s, the absolute record of the test. In the female category, the Ethiopian Fetale Dejene Tesegaye (2h.26m.40s) won while in the 10K the Aragonese Toni Abadía and Carlos Mayo entered the finish line hand in hand while Claudia Jalón was the winner among the women.
