In an interview granted at dawn this Wednesday to ‘El Partidazo’ on Cadena Cope, Bori Fati acknowledged that, if it were up to him, the Spanish-Guinean striker would have to change scenery next summer, something that, according to what his son does not contemplate
“I have told him to change scenery and he does not agree with his father,” declared the father of the ’10’ Barça player, who pointed out that he wants to see his son “succeed” as a footballer.
So far this year, Ansu, 20 years old and with a contract until June 2027, has played a total of 38 games, 10 of them as a starter, and has scored six goals in the more than 1,300 minutes he has played.
It is precisely this lack of minutes that was criticized by the player’s father, who stated that the Spanish international, who had chained two seasons marked by continuous injuries, is “perfectly fine” both mentally and physically.
“What bothers me is the few minutes they are giving Ansu. What bothers me is that they give him a minute, two minutes or three minutes, ”added Bori Fati, who revealed that he does not plan to watch Barcelona’s matches live at the Camp Nou.
His statements come two days after meeting at the Ciudad Esportiva Joan Gamper with the club’s football director, Mateu Alemany, and the sports director, Jordi Cruyff.
On that meeting, Ansu’s father explained that the two executives of the entity transmitted to him that they trust the striker.
“The first thing Mateu Alemany tells me is that Ansu is the club’s heritage. He loves Ansu, he has bet a lot on Ansu ”, he indicated.
And in the equation of the ‘Ansu case’ his agent also appears, the Portuguese Jorge Mendes, with whom Bori Fati plans to meet next month to talk about the future of the striker, who, if it were up to his father, would be far from Camp Nou. “Sometimes I think a lot about Sevilla. To take it home with me, ”he pointed out.
Barça, on the other hand, did have a recent meeting with the Portuguese agent. In the middle of this month of March, Joan Laporta, president of the entity, traveled together with Alemany to Porto and met with Mendes to analyze the different options in the summer market.
And on the table is the future of the ’10’ Barça, in addition to other folders such as the renewal of Alejandro Balde, the situation of Nico González -on loan to Valencia- and the plans for the promising youngster Lamine Yamal. All this without forgetting interesting footballers that the Portuguese representative has in his portfolio such as Joao Cancelo, Bernardo Silva, Ruben Neves or Marco Asensio.
At the moment, Ansu continues training with the first team. In fact, on Tuesday the club published on its social networks a video of a goal that the footballer scored in the last training session of the first team. His environment, with his father as a spokesperson, seems to be in a hurry for the ’10’ to have a leading role in Xavi Hernández’s line-ups.
