Madrid (EFE) Several ministers will be accountable either for the Barracks Case or for the shipment of Leopard tanks to Ukraine.
The week in which the President of the Government will be absent from the control sessions of Congress and the Senate due to the trip that he will undertake to Beijing to meet with the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, the parties of the right will predictably attack the new reform of the pensions while the investiture partners will give Sánchez one of lime and another of sand.
Although most of the coalition government’s parliamentary allies will join their votes with those of the PSOE to validate the pension decree -which PP, Vox and Cs have openly criticized-, parties like ERC or EH Bildu will show their differences in the face of war in Ukraine.
On the one hand, they could disagree about Sánchez’s meeting with the Chinese leader after Jiping’s meeting with the Russian president and, on the other, they will criticize the new shipment of Leopard tanks to Ukraine.
Precisely, the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, will appear on Wednesday in plenary session of Congress at the request of Bildu and ERC to explain the sending of these tanks to Ukraine, which the independentistas believe opens the door to sending more weapons.
Unidas Podemos, openly opposed to this shipment, will once again show its discrepancies with the Socialists after a week in which they have exhibited unity in the face of the motion of censure against Sánchez.
Marlaska’s appearance
The other focus of the parliamentary agenda will be on Minister Fernando Grande Marlaska. Tomorrow he will appear before the Interior Commission of Congress for the barracks case, which is investigating alleged irregularities in the awarding of works for up to 13 Civil Guard barracks.
Marlaska will highlight the principle of non-interference and respect for judicial independence and will insist that her department and the Civil Guard have “zero tolerance” for any illegal action.
However, a day later, the PP will also ask the Government in the control session in Congress for the resignation of the General Director of the Civil Guard, María Gámez, motivated by the judicial investigation opened to her husband in relation to alleged irregularities in awards of the Junta de Andalucía.
On Tuesday, Calviño in the Senate
The opposition will focus the control sessions of Congress and the Senate on economic matters and, while the PP spokesman in the Upper House will ask the first economic vice president, Nadia Calviño, about the economic situation on Tuesday, the PP deputy Carlos Rojas will want to to know if “it is going to rectify its economic policies”.
“Do you consider that your government’s policies are adapted to the economic situation of families?”, the spokesperson for Cs, Inés Arrimadas, will also question him, while the spokesman for Vox, Iván Espinosa, will agree to ask Calviño about the economy of the Spanish families.
The popular, in addition, will bring up the future Housing Law to ask if it will protect the ceilings on rents and veto foreign housing purchases, while some partners, such as Compromís, will take advantage of their question time to influence the housing system. Valencian financing expired since 2014.
Just the week in which the Senate will ratify the new Basque Quota for the five-year period 2022-2026 as well as the economic agreements with Navarra and Euskadi.
