Oviedo (EFE).- Asturias registers three forest fires on Monday, three fewer than this morning, in three councils, according to the latest information provided by the Principality’s Emergency Service (SEPA).
The fires are recorded in Següenco, in Cangas de Onís; Santo Firme, in Llanera, and Espinaredo, in Tineo, where the firefighting teams are deployed.
The regional government activated on Thursday night, when 25 outbreaks were recorded in nineteen councils, the Forest Fire Plan of the Principality of Asturias (INFOPA) in the emergency phase in zero situation.
This phase, the lowest of the four contemplated in the plan, is reserved for situations in which one or several simultaneous forest fires are recorded that can be controlled with the means and resources assigned to the plan.
According to the daily index published by the Ministry of Rural Affairs, all of Asturias is at high, very high or extreme risk this Monday due to forest fires.
20 councils at extreme risk
The risk is extreme in 20 of the 78 Asturian councils: Belmente de Miranda, Bimenes, Grado, Langreo, Morcín, Nava, Noreña, Oviedo, Proaza, Quirós, Ribera de Arriba, Riosa, San Martín del Rey Aurelio, Santo Adriano, Sariego , Siero, Somiedo, Teverga, Tineo and Yernes and Tameza.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) foresees a day without rain in Asturias, with a rise in maximum temperatures and variable light winds. EFE
