Madrid (EFE).- The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) today activated the orange warning level (important risk) in Asturias, Cantabria and the Basque Country due to coastal phenomena, with strong winds, an alert that remains at a yellow level in the Galician coast and in inland and coastal areas of Catalonia.
On the eastern Asturian coast, the west component winds of 62 to 74 km per hour (force 8) with a combined Northwest sea of 5 to 6 meters mean the orange alert. In the rest of the coast of Asturias the warning is yellow (risk)
Orange warning on the entire Cantabrian coast, from noon, due to a west or northwest wind of force 8 and a combined northwest sea of 5 to 7 meters.
The situation is similar on the Basque coast, where the orange alert is activated in the afternoon, before it is a yellow level, also due to force 8 winds with a combined northwesterly sea of 5 to 7 metres.
In Galicia, the warning is yellow on the northwest and west coasts of A Coruña and A Mariña de Lugo, due to winds from the west component of force 7 and a combined northwest sea increasing from 4 to 5 meters.
The wind also activates the yellow alert in Catalonia, specifically in areas of Barcelona, Lleida and Tarragona, where the gusts can be 70 kilometers per hour, preferably from the west and northwest, which can occasionally reach 80 kilometers in Tarragona.
