Madrid (EFE).- The National Statistics Institute (INE) has confirmed that the Spanish economy grew by 5.5% in 2022 as a whole, although it has slightly modified the growth pattern with a contribution from national demand (consumption and investment) higher than initially advanced.
According to the data updated this Friday, national demand (consumption and investment) contributed to growth in 2022 with 3.1 percentage points (2.8 in the January advance), while external demand (exports and imports) contributed 2.4 points (2.6 in the January preview).
The INE has also confirmed that the increase in GDP in the fourth quarter was 0.2%, the same as the previous quarter, sustained in this case by external demand, after the collapse of household consumption (-1.8%) and business investment (-5.7%).
