Vigo, Mar 21 (EFE).- Celta de Vigo reported this Tuesday that midfielder Gabri Veiga was already suffering “hamstring discomfort” before joining the concentration of the U21 team, and thus communicated it to the Spanish Federation (RFEF).
However, despite this warning, the footballer traveled to Madrid yesterday to put himself under the command of the new U21 coach, former footballer Santi Denia, starting this morning.
Veiga, in fact, took to the pitch with the rest of the national team but ended up retiring after feeling discomfort in the same area.
After talking with the doctors, they agreed that he not play the games with the sub21 and return to Vigo to speed up his recovery, with the aim of being available to Carlos Carvalhal in the next league match against Almería.
