Seville/Madrid, (EFECOM).- Gross foreign productive investment (discounting entities holding foreign securities or ETVE) amounted to 1,265 million euros in Andalusia in 2022, 30.3% more than in the previous year (970 7 million), according to data updated by the Ministry of Industry.
Throughout the country, investment increased to 34,178.15 million euros in 2022, 13.9% more than in 2021 (29,998.75 million).
Industry has specified in a statement that this is the second highest figure for gross foreign investment since records were kept, which for the Minister of Industry, Reyes Maroto, demonstrates “the strength of the Spanish economy” in a “very complex” context ”.
Half of the gross investment in 2022 was concentrated in the Community of Madrid (17,226 million), despite falling by 21.6% compared to 2021. After Madrid, the regions that attracted the greatest foreign investment and far from Andalusia were Basque Country (5,516 million, more than triple that of a year earlier) and Catalonia (3,884 million, 25.6% more).
Manufacturing leads foreign investment
The greatest year-on-year increases in investment were registered in Navarra, Asturias and Murcia, while the greatest setbacks occurred in Cantabria and Extremadura.
By country of origin, the main non-ETVE investors were the United States (27.7% of the total), the United Kingdom (17.8%), Germany (14%) and France (10%).
The sectors that attracted the greatest volume of investment were manufacturing (10,111 million), telecommunications (2,713 million) and renewables (2,800 million).
In net terms, once disinvestments have been discounted, foreign productive investment was 23,892 million, 9.8% more. EFECOM
