“I am very happy, but a little scared by the rhythm that I have… You get into a maelstrom, I don’t know, I never thought that at my age I would be (like this),” she confessed in a chat with EFE.
Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada was the guest star designer of the “Midwoman Yucatán Fashion Show”, where Mexican designers participated, especially from Yucatán.
Your story in a book
The businesswoman spoke about the stage she is currently experiencing and assured that the book “My Story” made her enter at a rate that she did not expect.
“The truth is that it has come to me, I think it is phenomenal, but it has put me in a march because you do not know what the book is, because of course, I presented it in Madrid and then my editor told me, well, and now what, to the provinces and then we have to present it like in 50 different provinces”, he affirmed.
Getting fully involved in this editorial project meant not only doing something new but also starting from scratch to attract people.
“You realize that for everything to go well you have to put a lot of energy into it because if you arrive at a place and you think that you are going to fill the room without taking care of it, you are wrong,” he acknowledged.
The promotion of the book is just underway, but he announced that he will visit countries like Chile and Argentina to promote the text.
The Spaniard recalled that the pandemic made her stop completely, however, she admitted that this stage was “very pleasant” since it helped her return to her origins.
“To be more in the studio more in the workshop, make many more costumes one by one and of course, well, be calmer and now I’ve picked up a rhythm, I don’t know if I’m old enough for this, the truth,” he said.
Mexican design is in fashion
Ruiz de la Prada took the opportunity to talk about Mexican design which, he said, has become fashionable beyond the catwalks, since he considered that it stands out in architecture, crafts and ecology.
“It’s that crafts have become very fashionable, ecology and also local things have become very fashionable, of course,” he said.
He recalled his recent stay in a hotel in Mexico City that was remodeled in a unique style.
“I was sleeping in Mexico City in a hotel on Avenida Reforma, but a hotel from the 70s, like offices, but they have decorated it as a Mexican “hippie” and it is hilarious and it is that everything, I mean, I I think that Mexican is super fashionable, it is a fabulous design and I am a fan of Mexico more and more each day”, she emphasized.
For the designer, points such as Cancun and Merida are strategically scheduled at the end of her work tour of Mexico.
In Cancun, he confessed, he relaxes and enjoys his stay near the beach and in Mérida he likes to go for a walk to discover new things.
“Here are the best men’s shirts, perhaps in the world, the guayaberas here are incredible and there are also some very classic and some very modern and well, I think that people who don’t know about this lose something wonderful”.
