Santiago de Compostela, Mar 18 (EFE).- A Lenovo Tenerife coral overwhelmed Monbus Obradoiro (58-78) this Saturday at the Multiusos Fontes do Sar, where the island team was reunited with victory after their European stumble against UCAM Murcia .
The insular roller picked up cruising speed from the start, with a suffocating defense that choked his rival (he stayed at 58 points, of which 23 were signed in the last quarter), and a tactical richness in attack that brought out bring out the multiple resources of its great staff.
The exhibition in the first half of Marcelinho Huertas melted Obradoiro, without an antidote to stop his ingenuity. The Brazilian offered a recital in the direction, with passes that knew how to exploit the interiors of Tenerife.
The Galician team, punished for its foreign mistake -1/6 in triples in the first ten minutes- grabbed Canadian Kassius Robertson to stay alive, trailed from the start by the 0-7 start of their rival after two triples and an additional free kick from Finn Sasu Salin.
Obradoiro had a threat of reaction (8-12), but his rival, exploiting the Huertas-Guerra connection, was quick to take off again (11-22). The entry of the Argentine Fer Zurbriggen gave another air to the Galician defense, much more aggressive.
And based on that greater intensity, the block of Moncho Fernández began to grow, who came to cut his deficit to five points (20-25) despite his numerous childish errors, such as that of Zurbriggen in a counterattack that missed due to his doubts; or the shots missed by Thomas Scrubb under the hoop, inappropriate for him.
Obradoiro forgave, excessively failing, and Tenerife, despite his mistake from the three-point line, punished him (21-35, rest). The Galician pain continued in the third quarter. Blurred, accelerated by their unusual shooting percentage, the Santiago team was a toy in the hands of a Tenerife that did not slow down and at the beginning of the last quarter led by 24 points (38-62).
