Logroño, (EFE).- The White Paper on the Youth of La Rioja constitutes the first work of systematization and approximation to the youth of La Rioja in all its aspects, “an essential previous step to refine youth policies, with which we take a step more on the path initiated by this legislature to recover the commitment to the youth of La Rioja”.
This was stated this Friday by the president of La Rioja, Concha Andreu, at the presentation of this study, at a public event
held at the IES Práxedes Mateo Sagasta, in Logroño, before different authorities, entities, youth associations and young people from the region.
The president has been accompanied, among others, by the professor of political science Silvia Clavería and the political scientist Pablo Simón, who have attended on behalf of the research team and who has worked together with the regional government throughout the process of creating the surveys , compilation and interpretation of information and writing of the work.
Together with them, he has exposed the detail of this tool, the first dynamic photograph of young people in the region, which includes their concerns, ways of thinking, priorities, interests, challenges and concerns.
This book, explained Andreu, “is a key and essential point in the path that we have traveled throughout this legislature in this land, in the field of youth.”
“There was no photograph – he stated – nor a clear and current image of the reality of the youth of La Rioja: what do you think today, what are your concerns, your preferences, your problems, what do you think of different issues of life and society current”.
Andreu explained that, “just after the pandemic, we have the most current, dynamic and general image of young people from La Rioja with which we will be able to work in depth and refine the policies and the different decisions that we will make much more, from now on the Government to accompany you in your day to day”.
In this sense, the president has emphasized one of the phrases that form the axis of the book.
“We are accompanying young people to a place, the future, where we have not been yet; the future is a place that
we know how it is going to be, and even less so, living in this present in constant
movement and change.
For this reason, “the phrase acquires all its meaning in the sense of putting young people at the center and giving them the tools, confidence and the most favorable climate possible so that they can develop their strengths and prepare themselves in the best way for society.” of the future, that of which we have no more knowledge than the certain fact that it will be led by
they and they”. EFE
