Logroño, (EFE).- The State Security Forces detected a total of 11,797 criminal offenses in La Rioja last year, which represented a 29 percent increase in crime, with a 33% increase in violations .
According to the Crime Balance corresponding to the fourth quarter of 2022, published this Friday on the website of the Ministry of the Interior, La Rioja is the sixth safest autonomous community.
The crime rate stood at 36.9 known criminal acts per thousand inhabitants in the La Rioja community, 12 points below the national average, which was 49.

Cybercrime increased 17% over the past year in La Rioja, where there were 2,465 offenses committed through cyber media (2,183 computer scams and another 282 cybercrimes).
Conventional crime increased 33%, with a total of 9,332 crimes, including one murder, 8 homicides and attempted murders, and 198 felonies of bodily injury and riots.
Among the 101 crimes against sexual freedom, almost 10% more than in 2021, there were 12 penetrative sexual assaults (rapes) and 89 other crimes.
The robberies with force grew 43%, with a total of 709, of which 524 were in homes (32% more); and there were also 2,744 thefts in La Rioja last year, 53% more.
On the other hand, 79 vehicle thefts were reported, 34% more; 98 drug trafficking crimes, which increased by almost 31%; and another 5,273 crimes of conventional crime, which increased by 25%.

Civil Guard and National Police
At the end of 2022, the National Police and Civil Guard staff in La Rioja had a total of 1,604 agents, which is the highest number in the autonomous community since 2015, which was 1,510, the Government Delegation has detailed in a note .
Between 2018 and 2022, both staffs have grown by 141 agents compared to December 2017, thanks to a reinforcement of 32 national police officers and 109 civil guards in La Rioja.
Regarding clarified criminal offenses, 2022 ended with a positive variation of 16.6 percent compared to the previous year.
In this way, the National Police and Civil Guard clarified 4,722 infractions last year in La Rioja, above the 4,051 in 2021.
In addition, last year arrests and investigations by the State Security Forces in La Rioja increased by 13%, which went from 3,135 in 2021 to 3,546 in 2022.
