Maliaño (EFE).- The project to cover the Camargo roads, which will be presented at an event open to the public on March 30 at the cultural center of La Vidriera, will have an investment of close to 12 million euros, of which the Government of Spain will contribute half, the regional Executive 30 percent and the City Council the remaining 20 percent.
This was announced by the Vice President of the Government of Cantabria, Pablo Zuloaga, and the Mayor of Camargo, Esther Bolado, after meeting in Madrid with the General Directorate of Planning, Strategy and Projects of Adif to address this project.
Zuloaga recalled that this is a project for which Esther Bolado has been fighting since 2015 and has stressed that it will be a “green, inclusive and accessible” project thanks to the “determination” of the Camargo City Council and the collaboration of the Government of Cantabria and with the support of the Government of Spain.
Bolado explained that in the meeting both have known the details of how the work will be with the urbanization of the environment and not only the coverage of the tracks.
“Fundamental” project for Camargo
The mayoress has recognized that it has been “exciting” to see how this project is going to be “definitively”, that it is going to be a reality and that it is “fundamental” for the modernization of the urban center of Maliaño, according to the Camargo City Council. it’s a statement.

“This is fantastic news for Camargo because what in 2015 began as a dream, today has become a reality,” said Bolado, who stressed that this work means humanizing and integrating two urban centers “broken by roads” .
In addition, it has detailed that these 300 meters of road coverage will provide a solution to parking, to have a bus station and a green area, in such a way that what at the time were 1,200 social homes will be converted with this performance in the best area of the municipality to live.
La Vidriera, presentation on March 30
On Thursday afternoon, March 30, an event open to the public will be held in the assembly hall of the La Vidriera cultural center with the participation of the president of Adif, María Luisa Domínguez, to officially present the project to the residents.
In that act, all the details of an action that consists of covering a section of about 300 meters of tracks from the current halt of the Muriedas station to a little beyond the church of the Lorenzo Cagigas park will be announced.
After the construction of this box-like roof that goes over the tracks, two lateral slabs will be placed to make the transition from the Lorenzo Cagigas area to the Cros area through the urbanization of that area.
