Granada (EFE).- The meeting of the executive committee of the DONES program, in which delegates from 15 European countries and Japan have participated, has meant a “firm step” in the particle accelerator, a unique facility in the world that will mean the largest investment in a scientific infrastructure in Spain to seek clean energy.
The Minister for Science and Innovation, Diana Morant, led this meeting held in Granada and pointed out that the accelerator will involve an investment of more than 700 million euros, for which the Government already has 93 million European funds reserved, to which the contribution also guaranteed by the Junta de Andalucía will be added.
Morant has also announced that the Consortium that manages the infrastructure will present a strategic human resources plan in the coming weeks for the direct hiring of at least 200 highly-qualified scientists and engineers, a job that is in addition to the one that will be involved in building the accelerator, whose works will begin in 2025.
