Haría (Lanzarote) (EFE).- The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, received this Wednesday the Portuguese Prime Minister, Antonio Costa, at the start of the 34th Spanish-Portuguese summit that is being held today in Lanzarote and in which nine Spanish ministers.
Sánchez and Costa saw each other yesterday, during the visit in the town of Tías to the House-Museum of the Portuguese Nobel Prize for Literature José Saramago, and at the joint dinner with the two delegations, and they greeted each other again this morning, this time Now, with the protocol honors of a summit of this level.
Sánchez welcomed Costa at the gates of the Jameos del Agua, the space designed by César Manrique, to then listen to the national anthems of both states and review the troops of the infantry regiments, the navy and the air Force.
Next, the 34th Spanish-Portuguese Summit began, attended by the second vice president, Yolanda Díaz; the third vice president, Teresa Ribera; and the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Justice, Transport, Education, Culture, Health and Universities.
After the traditional family photo, Sánchez and Costa will hold a bilateral meeting, while the Spanish ministers will meet in parallel with their respective counterparts.
Subsequently, the plenary meeting of the two delegations will take place to, once concluded, proceed to sign agreements and appear, in the case of Sánchez and Costa, before the media.
