Cristóbal Martell, Jordi Pujol’s lawyer, assumes the defense of Barça
The criminal lawyer Cristóbal Martell, who leads the former president of the Generalitat Jordi Pujol, will defend FC Barcelona in the case opened in a court in the Catalan capital for the millionaire payments that the Catalan entity made to the former vice president of the Technical Committee of Referees, José María Enriquez Negreira.
As confirmed by legal sources to EFE, Martell will assume the defense of the Barça club in the ‘Negreira case’, after the complaint by the Prosecutor’s Office has been admitted for processing by the Court of Instruction number 1 of Barcelona.
Martell is one of the most reputable lawyers in Barcelona and is in charge, among others, of the case of the former Catalan president Jordi Pujol and his family in the case of alleged corruption that the National Court has in its hands.
He also represented the soccer player Leo Messi in his litigation for tax fraud and now the former Barça player Dani Alves in the case opened for the alleged rape of a young woman in the bathroom of a nightclub.
