Seville, (EFE).- Prices rose in Andalusia in February by 6.6% in the interannual rate, three tenths more than in January and six more than in Spain, mainly due to the sharp rise in food and non-alcoholic beverages, 17.8%, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
They also registered strong price increases in February in Andalusia for alcoholic beverages and tobacco, of 8.9%, hotels, cafes and restaurants, of 9.3%, and household items, of 8.4%, while a marked decrease was recorded in the housing, 9.6%, the only group in which prices fell last month.
The rest of the CPI components experienced more moderate increases ranging from 5.3% of others; to 2.9% of transports; 2.8% teaching; 2.6% for leisure and culture, 2.5% for communications, 3.2% for clothing and footwear and 1.8% for medicine.

In Spain, inflation in Spain rose 6% in the interannual rate in February, one tenth less than the data provided by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) on February 28 and one tenth more than in the previous month, due to fundamentally due to the historic rise in food of 16.6%.
In the group of food and non-alcoholic beverages, prices in February increased by more than one point over the previous month, and this behavior is influenced by the increase in the price of vegetables and meat, as well as a lower price of fish and shellfish compared to last year.
