Valencia (EFE) in this month, and it also becomes the highest of this day in all of Europe.
According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), until now 33 degrees had not been reached in this town until March 20, 2002, while on March 21 of that same year 36.3 degrees were reached.
In addition, Aemet adds that the highest temperatures in Spain and the continent have been registered this Monday in the province of Valencia, specifically the first three, since behind Xàtiva are Carcaixent, with 32.5 degrees, and the Airport of Valencia, with 31.9.
In fact, in the records of the Valencia Airport observatory, which have been recorded since 1966, there is only one day in March with a higher temperature than this Monday: the 32.6 degrees of March 25, 1988.
Monday also leaves very high temperatures in other parts of the Valencian Community, where the 31.5 of Pego (Alicante), the 30.8 of Llíria and Miramar, and the 30.7 of Ontinyent and Turís stand out.
Bicorp, near Xàtiva with 30.4 degrees
In the province of Valencia, Bicorp has reached 30.4 degrees, while the city of Valencia has been left with a maximum of 29 degrees; Polinyà del Xúquer with 26.3, and Utiel with 25.5.
According to Aemet, a breeze blew in Valencia since noon, which kept temperatures below 25 degrees, but at 5:00 p.m. the wind began to blow again from the west and there was a sharp rise to 29.4 degrees, while humidity dropped.
In Castellón, the temperatures have been lower, with maximums of 25.5 degrees in Morella; 24.7 in Vilafranca; 22.7 in Castelló, and 22.3 in Castellfort.
In the province of Alicante, Orihuela has reached 30 degrees; Novelda, at 27.8; Elx at 27.6; Pinoso at 27.4; Alcoi at 27.3, and Alicante at 25.9.
For this Tuesday, Aemet forecasts a notable drop in maximum temperatures throughout the Valencian Community except on the Alicante coast, where no changes are expected.
