The king and Sánchez are going to tour some of the factory facilities accompanied by the CEO of Airbus, Guillaume Faury, and the president in Spain, Alberto Gutiérrez.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, and the Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles, will also participate in the event.
CASA was founded on March 3, 1923 by José Ortiz Echagüe and its integration process into Airbus was completed in 2009.
Throughout the year, the centenary commemorative events will be extended to the other plants that the aeronautical manufacturer has in Spain -Illescas (Toledo), Cádiz, Seville (Tablada and San Pablo) and Albacete.
The visit to Getafe by Felipe VI and the head of the Government, scheduled for 11:30 a.m., follows the one they did in April 2021 to inaugurate the expansion of the plant, which has made it the third largest European aerospace facility after those of Toulouse (France) and (Hamburg).
As Gutiérrez said then, the new campus had the objective of consolidating Spain “at the world aerospace vanguard” as it is one of the few countries with the capacity to design, manufacture, and assemble aircraft.
In the afternoon, Sánchez is going to meet Faury at the Palacio de la Moncloa.
